Aerial YogaAerial yoga is a hybrid of traditional mat based yoga, pilates and aerial sling inversions, all performed in a two point aerial hammock that's suspended from the ceiling as a prop to support you through the various flows. The purpose of the hammock is to help you improve flexibility, balance, stability and build strength, while allowing you to do more challenging poses without the added pressure on your shoulders, spine, or head. For those suffering with chronic back pain or tension in the shoulders and neck, aerial yoga can help improve blood flow, joint mobility and stability and provide decompression of the spine. We use the aerial hammock throughout the entire class for all poses, including a suspended meditation, sun salutations, inversions, and the best part, a floating savasana, also known as cocoon. This is an 'All Levels' class, suitable for the absolute beginner to advanced students. |
