WHAT DO I WEAR FOR POLE CLASS? ARE HEELS COMPULSORY for Pole?
Pole Clothing - Foundation & Skills Classes
All members and guest students are required to wear shorts or short leggings depending on their skill level. For beginners, up to 3 inches above the knee will be required to adequately perform moves. For levels above this, bike shorts or shorter depending on your level. Any comfortable shirt and/or sports crop is suitable. These clothing regulations are in place for safety so your skin can grip to the pole and assist you to hold your moves.
Heels are definitely not compulsory but they are a great option to add an element of spice to your class as well as added intensity for your workout. Pole heels act like ankle weights (very pretty, sparkly ankle weights!) and can increase your hip flexor strength and ankle grip.
All members and guests must wear suitable clothes and footwear. We do not allow clothes with offensive images or inappropriate advertising.

There is no additional equipment needed for this class unless otherwise directed by your instructor in advanced.

The studio has equipment available that you may use, just ensure you wipe down your station with the provided cleaning supplies before and after each class.

WHAT's on the no no list?
No No List
The following items and clothing are NOT ALLOWED on any equipment (no exceptions):
  • NO zippers, studs or other metal or sharp items on clothing
  • NO jewellery, especially on wrists, ankles, toes, fingers or around the neck. Earrings, belly, nipple and dermal piercings are allowed as long as they do not have any sharp edges or are taped to prevent catching on fabrics or scratching poles and hoops. If you wear any jewellery that an instructor deems unsafe for the above reasons, you will be asked to remove them or tape them before continuing with your class.
  • NO shoes are to be worn within any studio room (except waiting rooms), especially on crash mats or tumbling mats (Pole Heels are an exception to the rule for choreography classes or if otherwise advised by an instructor, but are still not allowed on crash mats or tumbling mats).
  • NO G-Strings or Pasties allowed to be worn as your only form of 'dance wear' at the studio (unless otherwise stated for special events only). Breasts and genitals to be sufficiently covered within the studio and during class (as we have underage students at the studio). Please note: Exposure for breast feeding purposes is an exception to this policy and can be done in the waiting areas. All common areas and studio rooms are open to all ages (14yrs and over) and should be treated as an all ages environment.
  • NO long or sharp fingernails or fake nails allowed on any fabrics. They cause snags in the fabric, resulting in holes. Once a fabric has a hole, it shortens the life of its use and can even result in it needing to be retired as it is no longer safe to use.
If you participate in a class and violate any of the above regulations, you will be asked to rectify the violation or sit out the class. If you violate any of the above regulations and it results in damage to any studio equipment, you will be responsible for the costs to replace the equipment damaged.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STATIC AND SPIN POLE?
You may have noticed - some poles are static, while other poles spin. All our poles can be adjusted between static and spin, depending on the class and your preference. Static poles are fixed and don't move, whereas spin poles pivot around themselves, providing a great 360 degree view of any trick! Static pole requires you to create momentum to spin around it, using a lot of strength and body awareness to keep your momentum going. Spin pole requires control and understanding in your entries to ensure you don't spin too fast! If you’re brand new to pole dancing, try both static and spin to see what you like best! If you are unsure, haven’t done fitness for a while, or get dizzy easily, static pole can be a good place to start.
WILL I HAVE TO SHARE MY Apparatus?
For Pole, our space is set up to hold up to 12 students with their own 4m pole to use during your class. However, we have our students pair up to learn spotting skills throughout class which helps you connect to your peers and assists in safe practices during practice times.
Our aerials room is spilt into 3 smaller rooms whereby you may share an apparatus with up to one other person in a class of either 10 or 12. We find that sharing helps you connect with your peers in class, work harder as you are more motivated to make the most of each attempt and gives you the chance to learn valuable spotting skills that are helpful during practice times.
CAN I DO MORE THAN ONE CLASS PER WEEK?
Absolutely! We encourage our students to spend as much time on their chosen apparatus as possible! Taking multiple classes per week is a great way to reach your fitness, flexibility & skill goals faster. As we operate on a term basis, you will need to sign up to all the courses you wish to take during that term.
HOW DO I BOOK?
Reach out to our admin team via Facebook Messenger or Instagram. We do not currently have a phone number, nor do we monitor emails for sign ups. Our studio does not have a reception area, so in person sign ups are not available at this time. We ask that you send all your queries to us via Facebook Messenger or Instagram to ensure you get a reply.

Once you’ve reached out with the courses you’d like to sign up to, we will provide you with the Bank Account details to transfer your course fees into. All fees are upfront and to be paid in full by 48 hours prior to the start of term.

Timetables are released 4 weeks prior to term commencing to provide you with time to pay your fees. This can be done in instalments over that period or in a lump sum. This will be organised with admin upon sign up.

We take a non-refundable holding fee of 10% of your total fees. If you change your mind and wish to withdraw from any course, you have until 48 hours prior to term starting to organise this with our admin team. You may receive a full refund less the holding fee up to 48 hours prior to term commencing. Once the term has commenced, no refunds will be issued.
If there are extenuating circumstances, please reach out and we will see if we can help. We may be able to transfer your position if you know someone willing to take your place depending on how far along the term is.
We may also consider transferring your course to the following term, but this would depend how far along the term is and also incur a fee as your spot cannot be filled and was reserved for you. These alternatives are not guarantees and are at the owners discretion.

You will receive an emailed copy of the studio waiver and membership agreement to return signed prior to term commencing along with a link to our Jungle Tribe Facebook student page.
I'M MALE, CAN I TAKE CLASSES AT JUNGLE STUDIO?
Yes, but we are a female focused space with experience in providing curriculums that target the female body’s strengths and needs. As males are typically able to gain strength faster than females, you may find our course structure is not challenging enough for you. We encourage any male students who are not finding their classes to be challenging enough to seek out private lessons, that way we can tailor the content to your strengths and needs.
